When my first grandchild came into my life I decided to be a stay at home grandmother. He was very fun and smart. I kept his room full of things to do that would spark his imagination. His favorite thing was a huge card board box. For a while he colored, painted and worked on his box. We had tools so he could pretend to be a builder. For a time the box was his house. We made doors and windows. Had little chairs and even a kitchen for him to turn his house into a cafe. We had tea parties and invited all his play friends. When that got boring he turned his box into a working car garage filled with trucks and cars to work on. He would would get ready for work put on a big black hat, Papa's work boots, pack a lunch in a big brown paper sack and kiss me good-bye. He would spend hours working and playing.
We found a childs camp set. Now that was a blast to watch and pretend. My little man would sneak through the woods hunting all the lions, tigers and bears, bring them back to his box and cook em up on his camp fire. All the wonderful stories that little boy could come up with. All center around a cardboard box.
It was very easy to entertain a young child with imagination and a person to share in all his special adventures.
For his bed he chose a comforter covered with an ant hill and little ants working all over. There were ants on the pillows, ants on his curtains. He even had me put up wall stickers of ants and bugs so he could be a bug farmer, a bug catcher and an exterminator. Childrens bedding, childrens bedding accessories and bedroom decor and bring a childs imagination into high gear.
